NCDEX Overview

NCDEX Limited (Formerly Known as National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited) is a professionally managed, SEBI-regulated stock exchange established in 2003, focused on enabling transparent price discovery and effective risk management across commodity and financial markets.

Since the start of its operations, NCDEX has built a robust and credible marketplace for commodity derivatives, offering futures and options in a diverse range of agricultural and non-agricultural products. Over the years, the Exchange has expanded its product suite and extended it to offer services through the mutual fund transaction platform to broaden access to investment opportunities and deepen the market participation.

With technology as it's backbone it is the first domestic Exchange to operate from an Uptime-certified Tier-IV data center, ensuring 99.99% uptime and uninterrupted trading continuity. Its technology-driven approach enhances reliability, scalability, and user experience for market participants across the ecosystem.

NCDEX prices are widely regarded as benchmark references in domestic and global commodity markets, reinforcing its role in improving transparency and market efficiency. Alongside its subsidiaries, the Exchange provides an integrated market infrastructure, including clearing and settlement services, repository services, and e-auction platforms—creating a seamless and efficient ecosystem.

Building on its strong foundation, NCDEX is strategically expanding into equity and equity derivatives, evolving into a technology-driven multi-asset exchange serving a wider investor base across India and beyond.

Driving Rural Financial Inclusion

NCDEX plays a pivotal role in advancing financial inclusion in rural India by connecting farmers and agri-value chain participants to organized and transparent markets.

Through efficient price discovery, the Exchange empowers farmers, traders, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) with credible price signals, enabling informed decisions on crop planning and sales. Its commodity derivatives platform provides accessible risk management tools that help mitigate price volatility, supporting income stability, and long-term planning. As a strategic initiative, NCDEX is supporting FPOs to become mutual fund distributors - thereby enhancing their role in financial inclusion. Its continuous investor education and awareness initiatives further promote the adoption of hedging and risk management practices among grassroots participants.

By bridging the gap between primary producers and national markets, NCDEX supports inclusive growth, enhances market linkages, and improves price transparency. Its ongoing efforts align with national priorities of strengthening the agricultural economy and fostering capital formation.
